The Crew

Linda & Pete

We are experienced sailors as well as meticulous boat builders who take pride in what we do and how we sail, leading a simple, minimalist and sustainable life.

We bumped into each other in 2017, while at loose ends in New Zealand. A seeming coincidence resulted in us sailing together in Oryx for 10,000 nautical miles that year. Since then, we have owned four different boats and sailed them around the Atlantic and the Pacific.

We spent three years building “Kokachin” and then sailed her for 20,000 miles before moving onto “China Moon” which we found in a terrible state in Tasmania, requiring a six-month refit.

Linda said: “Pete is an old salt, young at body, mind and heart, with a finest mix of adventurous spirit and childish joy, whose life purpose is building, converting and sailing junk rig boats. Despite weathering many storms, he remains composed, unperturbed and at peace with himself and the world. Even in the most difficult situations, he remains calm and a joy to be with. I call him Neptune!”
